Last week I visited a small independent bra shop in an affluent neighbourhood.  Rather than ask directly for a fitting l usually first engage the staff in chat about the brands they sell. This way I demonstrate my product knowledge.  Invariably they eventually ask what size I am looking for.  At this point I  usually answer that I normally wear a 34D but that it varies by brand and style. Depending on their reaction I  follow up and ask about the possibility of a fitting. This strategy usually yields a positive result and on this occasion it did.  The assistant asked me what syles and colours I  liked  which I answered.  She then asked whether I wore prostheses. Now I was wearing a  loose fitting patterned top so my boobs weren't that obvious. I just said no and she asked whether I was wearing a bra and I said yes. She then invited me into the fitting room to assess my current bra for fit and to see what maybe suitable.  When I took off my shirt I  could tell she was a bit shocked at what she saw by the way she hesitated and said "err, ok right" but she went to actually compliment me on the fit of the bra I was wearing.  I guess she had never encountered a man with breasts before so assumed that I  would wear fake boobs.  I went on to have a really great experience, she  offered me 3 lovely options and I chose the Wacoal Halo Lace bra in a practical nude colour.  It's lovely to wear.

I've posted this elsewhere before but it works here as well.  I was visiting a crossdressing website and the question was asked, "Why to you wear a brassiere?"  There were a few men speaking about their breast development but that laughs came from the person who responded to the question saying "If I didn't, my breast forms would fall to the floor."

With this crowd we have legitimate reasons to wear a well-designed brassiere.  And for many of us it will need to be an attractive brassiere as well.

All in all sounds like a good experience.  I would have to think that it's not common for men to walk into a shop with breast like us here have.  I would also have to think many do go into a shop for the reason as 42C mentioned.

I'm glad you did it and shared your story.  The more we get out there the more common it will become.  And... you walked away with a very nice bra!

I'm pretty sure that if I didn't have breasts I wouldn't wear Prosthetics.

The exception might be if I had a single Masectomy,  then I might wear one on one side to even the girls out.

But hey, to each their own.

I know I wouldn't.
I do try and manage mine and give an accepting shape. I guess I never had that need.  I'll keep mine and work with what I have been blessed with.

I don’t think anyone that learns from this site needs those things. We have grown our own. Good or bad, which ever way you look at it. When I started growing, it brought me to this site. I hated my boobs! Now with the help of the fine folks on this site, I have learned to accept them and learned to accept bra wearing which has helped tremendously. I have healthy breasts and wear bras to support them. I am perfectly happy with all of it now👍

I have had mine since my early teens and can't imagine life without them. Used to hate them, but now I love the girls. Not to the point that I would replace them with silicone.

Understandably, there are many that don't have their own but desire them enough to purchase a pair. To each their own. I guess I'm just blessed to have my own.

I'm a member of another site and plenty of individuals use breast forms. It's not hurting anyone if they do.

I agree.  I'm not one to judge nor do I live in their head.  If that makes them feel like the person they feel they are inside...
no judgement here.

If you two are implying that I’m judging….Im not. Really don’t care what others do. You want to have breasts forms…go for it

However you want to classify a bra with padding, there’s times I enjoy the breasts being a bit fuller and so I’ll wear a padded bra.   I also don’t have a problem with adding an enhancer on one side if it helps even out the look in some of the bras I wear since my one breast is smaller than the other.

I wear a bralette when exercising and usually all of the day.  They do have foam inserts which covers the nipple and evens out the breasts to a uni look.  It may add something but, at my size, is minimal.  Summer is going to be a challenge.  Looking for options with a muscle shirt and tank top.  7am walks are getting harder for me to cover the top.

My post has certainly generated a lot of responses.  I think the assistant asked me the question because it didn't seem possible that a man would wear a 34D bra without using some kind of inserts to fill the cups.  I didn't take offence.   Moving onto the warmer weather, this year I have decided to wear a padded bra to minimise nipple show.  They may add some bulk but the profile is smoother and often more natural looking.
