First time around family is always stressful. But the truth is if it was obvious before you started wearing a bra you had a bust, chances are very high no one will notice or say anything. That was my experience. My family has never given me an indication they know or care. YMMV.

While my experience wasn't quite like yours, what was similar is when women find out I am wearing a bra for actual breast tissue, they tend to treat me a little different. While the number of women who know of my bra wearing can be counted on one hand, those who know treat me more like a "fellow traveler" and will "confide" information to me I am sure their partner doesn't even know. And I am expected to keep it confidential as well. It's the old "mutual distruction" I jokingly call it "chest sisterhood". 

Yeah, it can be a real thing. Sounds like you're now a part of the sisterhood of your family. And it's not a bad thing either. It has it's perks. It's better than slinking around and acting like there's nothing different. That can really suck.

Not working hard for concealment but managed to remain stealth through many encounters.

You have gone from 0-100 very quickly for some one who just started to wear a bra daily. You have done well to embrace that you are best served by wearing a bra, even in potentially uncomfortable situations. But now you will go forward in full confidence.

I have always switched to a pull over racer back bra when I know I will be with family, feeling that this type of bra has less of the obvious hardware and strap design to clearly give away that I have a bra on. Otherwise I feel confident my bra is not at all obvious in a public setting when wearing my usual pattern button down shirts, although I can not hide that I have bumps on my chest. 

I am sure putting on a bra in the morning has / is becoming a routine that you do not even think about. And you will definitely not forget to pack a selection of bras for you trips.

Lots of positive stories detailing our journeys to acceptance.  Really heart warming stuff!  My wife often doesn't notice that I am wearing a bra even when giving me a hug. When she does she usually gives one of the straps a friendly tug and smiles. Sometimes I do have doubts about what I am doing and wonder whether I am delusional?  Then I look in the mirror and see this, then I know what I am doing is justified.

  I have to say getting beyond that initial shock it seems like a worthwhile event.  What a day that must have been.  What I think is so nice is you never have to worry about it again.  I wish I was there as do many here I'm sure.

  I'm glad your in a good place with your wife as far as wearing in her company.  That's a nice looking bra and the fit looks great.  It's nice to just put on what works and go about your business.

Gman - It can feel for you how stressful it must have been while unfolded so quickly - probably a worst case scenario for those reading and worried about something like that unfolding so openly - but it sounds like it ended very well and I am glad you shared this.  I'm sure it will help others.

For me, I had worn tank style compression tops around family for a number of years prior to the past few years wearing a sports bra, no one has noticed at all and it is much more comfortable for me.  I've more recently tried some more stealthy minimizer underwires where there is less hugging and again so far no one has noticed or commented.
