I actually only have one racerback, front closure bra. I find that they don't support my girls as good a traditional back hook and loop, underwire bras. I keep it to wear with certain tops that I need to wear a racerback with. However, just slip it on one arm at a time like a traditional bra and hook it up at the gore.
might be a silly question, but what is the gore? i have seen it referenced many times
No silly questions about bras. We all have to learn these things.

The "gore" refers to the front and center portion of the bra where the cups come together. Part of having a proper fitting bra means that the gore is "tacking" or firmly contacting against your sternum. If the gore is not tacking, it usually means that your band is to loose or your cup size is too small.

As mentioned in this forum, the gore is also a safe and convenient place to hang your bra for drying evenly.

Not really a dumb question. Many women have no idea what the gore is. Or tack of the gore.

The gore is the fabric bridge between the cups in front. If the bra is an underwire, the gore is intended to lay flat or "tack" against the sternum in between the breasts. This is what gives underwire the ability to define each breast. Soft cup bras (bras without underwire) gore can not tack against the sternun because there is nothing to form the cups around the breasts. Engineered soft cup bras like the Playtex Cross Your Heart bras and some soft cup sports bras use a system of seamed ribbons and seams on and under the cups  forcing the cups to individually mold to each breast in and on the cups and straps crossing over the sternum forcing the gore between the breasts for a lifted and seperated look similar to an underwire bra.
Womanhood is not defined by breasts, and breasts are not indicative of womanhood. - Melissa Fabello
