John Doe, the real difference came when I had professional fittings and was asked to scoop and swoop. I had never heard of this and once I had been shown how to do this the difference was huge and suddenly I was in the D cup category and above. I remember the lady at John Lewis smiling and saying "My, you've definitely got boobs now haven't you?".  I had to agree with her. I also felt more secure and comfortable now that I was properly fitted and I have been in a bra ever since.

The swoop and scoop is an absolute necessity! Especially when dealing with male breasts since we usually have a wider chest and are a bit more diffuse.
Tired of being uncomfortable so other people are comfortable.

Mere cup sizes indicate that I am within a range I must look for bras, but are not such important to me. I have bras from cup A to cup D (same band size!) that fit me well. My mother-in-law wore a 44A cup bra, since she couldn't tolerate a narrow band size. In fact her breasts were large and might have been 85DD or 85DDD with the correct bra.

And I know the swoop and scoop technique since several years from YouTube videos on bra fitting. I always do this when putting on my bra in the morning.

A bra is just an article of clothing for people with breasts.

That's one thing I appreciate from my fitter. She doesn't treat me like some weirdo. She treats me like any other customer and talks to me in the same way as other customers. It certainly makes it much more comfortable to be seen as just another customer needing support.

Swoop and scoop also enables you to ensure that your bra underwire is not sitting on breast tissue which can cause pain and discomfort and that the gore is tacking correctly between your breasts.  Yes our breasts tend to be wider and shallower so we require wider wires and cups with less projection.
