Hi bloregynacomastia,hungry.tides,

how long you guys were in the hospital after surgery?

See,
Its all depending on your mental outlook and physical capacity. Every doctor will give his opinions and they surely always differ.they say 2-3 days to be on safer side. (And of course make a nice fat bill for you). Lets face it..If I were the hospital management I would think the same how to make money from my services.

I just had an overnights stay at hospital.Even that was too much I feel and unnecessary but the fear of the unknown pinned me down for a day. Also i was being given IV drips antibiotic injections and painkiller IV drips. so i just coudnt free myself of it.

Remember that I went for surgery myself without a Soul even knowing. NO one was with me...I paid the surgery , signed the consent and declaration form, the disclaimer forms in case of my death/ complications after surgery. So much so that when I was doing all the formalities before surgery, the admission counter cashier asked " YAARU PATIENT".. He was shocked to know that I'm the patient gonna get cut and no family or friend escorted/ accompanied me for the surgery. In south India families are over protective and hospitals never or rarely (now that i did it) see patients coming for surgeries without relatives.

In America, Some confident patients leave immediately....but RELAX they wont let you run away so soon + its risky they need to monitor you for sumtime....So You decide if you wanna stay for 2-3 days or overnight stay.....

I personally asked for discharge the next day because of the noise and disturbance of other patients , I cud not get a good nights sleep. I discharged myself carried my drains and walked out of the hospital un-aided all by myself...took Auto and went home.

Im sure none of you have guts of going 2 surgery alone....My Companion was GOD ALONE.

And yes...Its very simple to know if you need G surgery or not:

q1) Are you conscious of your boobs and are worried everytime you wear clothes whether they are visible to others ? If YES... DO SURGERY.

q2) Do you boobs protrude out if you wear a plain light color shirt without undergarments ( baniyan). If yes then  DO SURGERY.

REMEMBER its the duty of parents and psychatrists to discourtage PPL from useless non life threatening surgery.

BUT its psychologically disturbing and none can feel your inner pain or embarrasment except U.

My Mom always said my boobs are normal.... U tell me were they normal?? (check out the pics in first messages of this topic).

And BTW my Mom's a Doctor and she very well knows what Gynecomastia is.

Yet she chose to hide the truth from me and console saying  to try slimming down and
Gymming... Since its not life threatening a motherly instinct of avoiding useless harm to a child kicks in....

You wont die if your boobs remain.... But you will be half dead as your mental energy is distracted bcoz of your boobs.... always thinking how 2 hide it....Not being very social going to parties n stuff and Your career goes for a toss if your very sensitive bout it. Some people with Big gynes go into seriuos depression also... Why all this suffering...?

My Dad never even bothered to notice them..He did notice them but never commented or remarked. He gladly ignored it. REMEMBER these are your BOOBS...UR EMBARRASSMENT...Believe me..Even mothers cant feel the pain n torture unless you tell them that your Really suffering...they try to cover it up...or brush the topic away. ( Not all mothers but most of them)

ITS ALL HOW YOU FEEL....R u confident to get bare chested @ BAGA BEACH- GOA  or a swimming poool the way it is now?

If your comfortable..tHEN FORGET SURGERY...

IF its hurting embarassing  YOU...then You got your answer there maaan. GET RID of those Fuking moobs....THey are not normal FYI, although its not that severe ( i saw the pics). they need to get chopped off..b

All this doesnt really matter much....JUST DO IT

tony,

I m trying uploading my pics, but i m facing some trouble.
As for pain i dont have any, probably when i hit a bump when on my bike i feel a slight, but that doesnt amount to anything.

2days back i went to a club, 20 people in my group. I was bare chest all the time and no body noticed anything about my chest but my tummy brought lot of stares ;)

Skin attached it self very fast, there is a loss of sensation, and i have read on sites it take a year to get back sensation. I feel mine is coming back much faster. You should understand one thing, the period immediately after surgery is very important, u should not do anything that can cause pain in the areola area. Drains must be properly taken care of.

Try being sensible and dont take undue stress, you should sail thru.

Anymore questions? Shoot!!!

i have told at work abt surgery in lungs, so i can cover this issue by saying doc advised to wear this bandage  ;)  guess its one way to keep people from smacking ur chest...u know the guy thing
its visible i agree but its necessary to wear, it helps a lot in healing. i felt very uncomfortable in the earlier days when i bought vest, now its pretty comfy.

ciao

Hi Guys - Yet Another sufferer of this stupid gyne  :'(

I just started all these research of operating or other treatments. First i visited, Noble Clinic in Double Road, Bangalore. I met Dr.Vivek Bhat who is doing these kind of treatments using Laser Lipolysis (Rs.20,000). The doctor is saying that i can come, take the treatment and go on the same day.

Then, i consulted doctor called Dr. Thilak in Sagar Apollo, who told me that i have undergo a surgery and that will cost me around Rs.35,000 (general ward).

I am really confused here and not sure which way to proceed. Guys, your valuable suggestions please ???

Right information would make you understand this mess. browse this site and follow this step-by-step guide:

Steps to get Gyne out of your life:(assuming you know u have gyne and are older than 18 years)
1)  Visit endocrinologit, get your hormones checked
2) If hormones levels are normal, go to a plastic surgeon (in fact you would be refered to one)
3) be sure you are going to a Plastic Surgeon and not some quack.
4) Ask for before after pics
5) ask surgeon, if Lipo or Lipo + excision will be done, If you have glandular Gyne, u need Excision too.
6) go shopping for few more surgeons if you feel the surgeon isnt good or is costly
7) Ask about post surgery recovery procedure
8 ) a normal budget in India for a well known plastic surgeon would be 30 - 40 k(not that people who quote less are any less good), these figures are by what i have come to know, please enquire if any other stings attached?
9) plan surgery with a week off from work/college. you should resume normal life after 1 week post op, going about life helps in recovery.

>>>if the hormone results are out of normal ranges, still surgey can be done in most of the cases as if gland is removed there is no target tissue, get opinion of a good endocrinologist (i suggest Dr KJ Shetty of manipal, airport road)

biggest mistake one can do is do these steps with huge time gap, you loose piece of mind apart from time....
i would put this whole procedure of steps 1 to 9 to 1.5 months (assuming hormones are okay, and you have only weekends to go hunting for surgeon)

take appointments a day in advance, have a questionaire ready for all the surgeons.

hope this post was helpful, any more questions, shoot

Get that gyne out of you life...
