BKKRoss,
Speaking of nurses, while I was in the surgery room the nurses were chattering in Thai while they were preping me. When they removed my blue gown and put me under the surgery sheet they all started saying "jeu yai, jeu yai!!" (sp??) ::) ::) ::) Not entirely professional, but very funny! ;D

The bandages are not itchy. During the day they do get a little uncomfortable when I am outside in the heat. I brought a number of long sleeve shirts that I wear over the compression band. I am happy I did, because I don't think I would be able to get into my regular t-shirts, because I wouldn't be able to raise my arms.

As for sleeping, here I am at 5:20 AM typing this up, because I just can't get back to sleep. Having only one sleeping position does start to stink after awhile, but I guess I will get used to it after awhile.

Sleep in an angle on your back and have your head face left or right ... I manage to sleep quite well on my back with ease like this ...

You don't need to sleep in a position where you feel like your in a coffin! :D

GynO_DuDe,
Thanks for the advice. I will give it a go tonight. How are things coming along for you? You must be 2 weeks post-op or so right? I have noticed my swelling going down each day. I am feeling pretty good about everything so far.

Yup 2 weeks post op ... well 11 Days to be precise.

Chest is looking better as days pass, and since yesterday I also started Cycling for 30mins .. so going to do semi-intense Cycling 30mins 4 days a week just so I dont feel like im lazing around tooo much.

My left side (under arm) is slightly more swollen but you cant see this, I can only FEEL it. But all in all it's healing steadily and coming along well.

The rash that I got is also healing nicely ...

I really do hope the rash is totally long gone by the time I go to Uni again on 25th September.

My consultation was under 30 minutes. If you have never been to Bumrungrad, you will have to register first. Dr. Poomee has always been running on time with his appointments. So get there 15-30 minutes early to deal with registration.

During the actual consultation, Dr. Poomee examined my chest and we discussed the surgical procedure and options. It tooke me about a week or so after my consultation to decide that I wanted to use Dr. Poomee for the surgery. If you decide to move ahead with the surgery, you may have to wait 4 - 8 weeks for surgery, as he gets booked up quickly.

GynO_DuDe,
The start of school is still 4 weeks away. I am positive that you will be feeling great by then. It will be nice to lose the vest before going back to school right? I am glad to hear that your healing is coming along so nicely, minus the rash that is.

Good luck!
Rob

I went in for my one week post-op appointment today. Dr. Poomee examined my chest and each of the incision sites. He said that everything looked fine and that I could begin to use silicone scar treatment sheets by next week. Dr. Poomee cleared me, but invited to send him any questions that I had and asked me to stop by in a few weeks if I was in town.

While I was in Dr. Poomee's waiting area I had the pleasure of meeting BKKRoss who happend to be waiting for his consultation appointment with Dr. Poomee. BKKRoss, I wish you all the best. I will keep an eye on your thread to see how your consultation went.

The swelling in my chest continues to go down. My left breast is still more swollen than my right, but every day the swelling goes down. All of my bruses have healed. I am still a little sore at times, but this hasn't slown me down much. My chest and especially my nipples are still numb, but I suspect that I will regain feeling with time. My nipples continue to change in appearance. I am keeping an eye on my excision scars to see how they heal. I will post pictures tomorrow of my chest.

I asked Dr. Poomee if he had electronic copies of pictures of my pre-op chest, but he has already deleted the pics from his camera. I will dig around and see if I can find anything that I can post.

Excellent news.

Losing weight will definitely be a bonus. And you will be a new man after surgery guaranteed!!!!

My surgeon told me to expect final results after a year ...

Im now 14 days post op ... well 15 days I think lol  ???

Any way, my chest already looks SOOO much better and I know everything is still raw under their ...

I honestly can't wait to get back my 100% strength and movement so I can seriously concentrate at the gym and do everything like I did before!!

I washed my car today and went to the gym to do some cycling ... and I have to admit, I did it with quite a bit of ease.

I think by the time im back at university i'll be fine to do everything again.

My rash is also healing up nicely, I can see it fully gone in 2 weeks time (God willing)

GynO_DuDe,
I am happy to hear that your healing is coming along so nicely. I am sure you will be all set once school starts.

As for Dr. Poomee's views on gyn corrective surgery, I think it is unusal that a plastic surgeon of all people would have this attitude. Given his comment you would think that people DONT undergo hair transplants. Anyways, I hope that didn't send the wrong signal to you BKKRoss.

I will keep you guys updated.

Day 10 Post-Op

My brusing is just about all healed. Every day the swelling decreases little by little. I am very very happy with how my chest is healing. The excision sites continue to change, but I am happy with their appearance at the moment. I have a small crease in one nipple, but I think this may be due to extra skin and will go away as the skin tightens. My nipples are continuing to shrink in size. My range of motion is slowly getting back to what it was before.

I have updated my photobucket with Day 10 post op pics. Link is below.

Thanks!

BKKRoss,
Good luck with the weight loss. Maybe if you just eat pappaya salad until Jan you won’t have to have the surgery ;). I am sure you will be happy with the surgery outcome. I think your problem is not as bad as mine was and since your only doing lipo you are more likely to have a positive outcome.

Maloo,
There are a number of over the counter scar treatments available for old and new scars. They fall into two major categories; creams and silicone sheets. Each type is supposed to lessen the appearance of scars by removing pigment and in the case of raised (keloid) scars decreasing the size/volume of the scar. You are supposed to use these treatments for 1-2 months to see an effect. Dr. Bermant has a page on scar treatments here:

http://www.plasticsurgery4u.com/web_links_folder/scar_web.html

There are also a number of threads on this forum and the internet that discuss this subject in greater detail.

I also mention scars a lot in my posts and it is a major concern mine as well. I am hoping that my scars won't be that noticeable. At the moment, things look pretty good. I hope that once I start the scar treatment they will not be apparent to the casual observer at all.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

-Rob

I would imagine that the procedure is alot simpler and Dr. Poomee has done 1000s of liposuction surgeries.
