Hi

I had lipo only, 2 months ago and there is still a lot of fatty tissue on my chest.  I have spoken to the surgeon and he wants to do more lipo next month.  Everything that I have read on this forum points to waiting at least 6 months before any revision work should be done.

What are the risks of having lipo done 3 months post surgery?

Would you advise I go through with it?

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond.

It is impossible to comment definitively without before and after photos. Having said that there are several issues 1) how much glandular tissue do you have and 2)glandular tissue is not removed with liposuction. If there is substantial glandular tissue is is often the case nothing short of surgical resection will correct the problem.

Thanks Doctor I appreciate you sparing the time. Regrettably I don't have before pictures.  Can you clarify what you mean by a surgical resection please?

By resection I mean an incision with surgical removal ,not liposuction, of the glandular tissue.

Regarding timing of revision surgery, it's pretty much subjective.  I will sometimes go back for a revision after 3 months.  It varies with the patient.  If I'm waiting for skin contraction, I'll usually wait 6.
