Hi,
I have two young kids 1 1/2 and 3 yrs old. How long after surgery would it be until I could lift them.
Thanks.

Young kids aren't always predictable in their behavior, including when they're in your arms, so while you want to avoid the exertion of lifting your children in the early post-operative period, you will also want to avoid the pain of an unpredicted elbow in the chest, even up to a few weeks after surgery (especially the older child).  You should speak to your surgeon for more specific guidelines.

I would ask your surgeon ,my patients while wearing the vest can lift  lighter weights ( small kids) a day or two after surgery.
