Question about lipo

I was wondering do most of you guys gyno surgeries have a success using lipo only or does most of your cases have to have both lipo @ gland removal? Because I was looking at a highly recommended surgeon in Florida and most of all his cases were done through ultrasonic lipo without incision of the gland. Can this be possible? If so what percentage of your cases would you say are lipo only or lipo and incision of the gland? Thank You

I do both liposuction and gland excision in at least 95% of my cases.  I rarely just do liposuction.

Agree with Dr. Silverman -- most cases will require lipo plus excision.  Ultrasonic lipo works on fat -- not gland tissue.

I agree with Drs. Silverman and Jacobs.  I perform both liposuction and tissue excision in almost all of my patients.  I have seen many patients who have had inadequate surgery elsewhere because breast tissue was not excised.  Also, beware of new types of liposuction that heat fat.  In my opinion, it's not wise to heat fat with ultrasonic or laser energy.  Much of the fat that remains could be damaged from the heat.  Ultrasonic liposuction was introduced in the mid 1990's and was very popular for awhile.  But many results were less than optimal.  Heating fat can cause long term swelling or firmness of the fat.
