Question on testosterone replacement therapy and surgery

I was recently diagnosed with low testosterone.  My doctor wants to put me on Androgel.  I also have gynecomastia and want to get surgery to correct it.  My question is, should I get the surgery first and then start treatment for low testosterone?  Or should I start the treatment and then have surgery?  Also, if I get the surgery could I continue to use Androgel if I started it?  Many thanks in advance.
