Thank you.

I understand now that recovery is the same, so I am open to excision + lipo.  This was very helpful.

Yes I've been quoted different charge for lipo and different for excision.  Your method seems much more legit.  There are many doctors out there who are trying to make money by mis-guiding.

I am with Dr. Jacobs.  Recovery is the same either way, and in fact, most of the pain of the operation is related to the liposuction.  I charge a little extra when I have to remove skin, because it adds time to the surgery--an extra hour in most cases.  But otherwise, I charge the same for nearly all of my gynecomastia procedures, and the operation is comprised of whatever is necessary to get the best result.  For revisions of my own patients, I charge an hourly fee, which is designed to cover my expenses, not to drain the patient's bank account.

thanks to you guys, i didn't fall into this "lipo only" trap.  where one thinks they'd save money but end up doing another revision and paying double.

i can't believe how some doctors are publicizing lipo only saying their methods ie vapor techniques are designed to take out gland and treat gynecomastia.  its rather sad.

and i agree with your on the revision.  discounted price should be given to the patient who has to do it again.

thank you.

I perform both liposuction and excision, in my hands this provides my patients with the optimal result.I just have not found either in isolation to be as effective as when both are combined.

thank you.

on a separate note.. after how many days does the bruising, discoloring go away after surgery.
with a case like mine, after how long could I safely take off my shirt at a pool or a beach?

There is very wide variation, but in general, most of the bruising and discoloration should disappear in about two weeks, give or take.

Some patients apply arnica gel to bruised areas -- it seems to help speed the resolution of the bruising and swelling.  But do not apply it to any wounds.
