Work out post-op and swelling

Hello doctors, I'm two and a half months post op. I started to work out a week ago (with light weights and compression garment), but I now seem to be with some swelling. Should I stop what I’m doing? Or it will subside in some time?

I typically have my patient back working out well before two and a half months. There can be some swelling following muscular exertion,it resolves.

I'm fairly permissive with my patients post-operatively.  They start cardio at a week and resistance training at two weeks, so they're generally back to normal by 2 to 3 months.  Some swelling is common, and it will resolve over time, but it commonly waxes and wanes.

Agree with my colleagues -- some swelling may occur after exercise.

You might consider putting your compression garment on overnight after your workout and then take it off the following day.
