How much is it through private health cover to get the operation.. and how long do you have to have it for before you can use private health service to cover it? anyone you recommend?

This is a tricky one ...

Before you can get ANY sort of hospital cover with any health fund you must be with them for 12 months. However most of these funds DO NOT cover any sort of plastic surgery any I've just been recently told that includes all the procedures done during a gynecomastia surgery

I'm not 100% sure but I think private health might not actually help much if at all with regards to gyne surgery. You might have better luck getting it diagnosed as a non-cosmetic issue and done under medicare in a public hospital. However if you go that route, expect to wait 6-18 months for a hospital bed and you won't know your surgeon as one would be assigned randomly.
