Today I had my drains removed by my family Doctor. I will post before and after pic in a few days so you can see for yourself how good the operation was. Just bear with me.

You need to get your stiches out?  I thought Dr. Haugrud only used ones that disolved.

That is what I meant....

How long was it before your stiches were gone?

I dont recall ever having visable stitches.  I mean I could kinda feel sutures still in place after a month, but I was told it was ok to start massaging the area so whatever few were left, were probably broken up by my massaging.

NoChance, you are 1 month post-op, what does it look like? Does it look good?

It looks good, but its slowly moving along. Coming out of the surgery, I kinda had the expectation of taking off the bandages and everything looking perfect.  I didnt realize the nipples and skin needed time to tighten up etc so that has been hard waiting as it slowly happens.  When I went for my last checkup with Haugrud he said that around the 3 month mark it will be more of a final look, but he really emphasized the importance of massaging the areas.  The wrinkles in my nipples have left, as my nipples have slowly shrunk down to what they probably should have been before gyno stretched the shit outta them.  My right side is perfect, I dont think it could have been done or have healed better.  My left side looks the same as the right, but when I feel around in that area, it feels different, as I can feel what seems to be scar tissue (hard skinny lump running along the inside only where the incision was made), as well as a bit of loose skin surrounding the nipple area. This would make sense though as the gland taken out my left side was signficantly bigger than what was taken out the right side.  I have no pain or soreness as well, so I massage the area pretty vigorously now thoughout the day now.  Sometimes when I'm massaging, I get a 'popping' feeling, like I'm breaking up scar tissue, or breaking up sutures still remaining underneath.  It doesnt hurt though so I'm guessing its not doing any damage.

Where he made the incisions on the nipples, you cant even tell something was done unless you look very closely.  The exit holes for the drains are a different story.  On both sides they are still red, and have a bit of a 'raised' surface when you feel it compared with the rest of the skin.  I'm guessing scar tape/scar reducing creams will begin to be needed to help there.  I'm hoping they will go away as it its pretty obvious something was done they way they look now.

The hardest part for me has been getting back into my routine of going to the gym daily.  Since the surgery, I pretty much have just been sitting around taking it easy, and eating a lot more than I normally do.  I lost the boobs but got a mini gut going now.  :-\

Hey everyone,
Just a little update. Everyday my chest is looking better and better. Man I am very glad that I have gotten the operation done. My hat is off for Dr. Haugrud, he did one heck of a job. I am still trying to post pics, but a little bit hard when I dont know how to post pics. Anyone know how to post pics???

Has anyone else gotten a letter from A.H.C. Confirming that the operation was done by Dr. Haugrud?

hey guys looks like im booked for oct. 16th!! im more than ready for the surgery but im finding a bit of an issue with how busy work is the week of my surgery.   im just wondering if anyone else besides NoChance had gotten dr Haugard to write a note regarding the surgery to their boss and if you could give me more detail on what his letter actually said?

thanks!
