Achilles,

No I'm sorry I don't.  I went straight to Fielding without seeing an Endo first...

Hi All,

This site is great!!! I wondered if any of you know the private costs? I am living in the Uk right now but am heading home for good soon I hope. OHIP won't cover me for 6 months after my return and I thought I would take advantage of the Pound to the Dollar. They want £3500 here, which is about $8000, insane eh? If any of you know any good surgeons I would appreciate it, from what I have read it looks as if this Fielding fellow is border line God. But I think I am willing to pay just to get rid of these bad boys once and for all. I have ordered some of that Andtractin to give it a go, but I am very dubious that it won't work. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Again I must say the support that I have seen on this site is incredible and it is a shame I have taken so long to find this.  ::) Any advice would be greatful. (Peterborough area).

Welcome to the Site Broh!

Yeah, Fielding does good work. I highly recommend his work. Fielding's full, non OHIP cost is approx $3300 (CND). That's for excision and lipo. That would be the equivalent of £1500. Quite a difference huh? But hey, why not wait the 6 months for OHIP to kick in. Your out-of-pocket would then be approx $1500 (CND).  ;)   You would be saving $1800 by waiting the six months. Geeze, it may be six months before you could get scheduled for surgery anyways!

Have a look at my pics if you like. JCF fixed me on February 16th. The chest is not perfect but the moobs are gone!   ;D

Later my man...

Fourrings, I was readingthrough the posts and just realized how far ahead your surgery is booked for; while I don't think it would be a problem, I'm a little worried that I may not be able to get mine done when I want it (end of December, 27ish).  Did he mention if he goes away around christmas time or any other times he wasn't free to operate because he may be on vacation?

Achilles,

Tell me about it... ::)  Oh well, I'd rather recoup during the fall anyways.  Leslie didn't mention X-Mas, only that they were going on holidays "soon" as in the next few weeks.  The earliest date I could get was Oct 5 because of it.  The rest of Oct was open as well BTW.  I think you should be OK since the summer is the busiest time for Dr Fielding.  I sure that they'll be able to accomodate your Dec date since that's 4 months after your consultation.

Keep me posted as to what happens...

How far is Fieldings office from the Union Train Station?  I was just looking at train schedules and the latest train departs from Toronto to Ottawa at 5:30pm, and my appointment with Fielding is at 4:45, do you guys think that I'd have enough time to get to the train?  I'm gonna call his office on Monday and see if they would be able to bump be up about a half hour.

I don't think you'd make it man. Jane is at least a good 20-30 minutes away from Union. Not to mention that the appointments times are tentative and you usually end up seeing Fielding like 15 minutes after you were scheduled. Maybe with luck you can get in and out in no time, but if I were you I'd tell them my sitch and see if I could be bumped up.

Good luck.

Even if I did have some luck, I don't want to rush the appointment as I'm pretty sure I will be going with Dr. Fielding for the procedure, so I want to get as much info out of him as possible.  I'm really hoping that they will understand my situation and bump me up, we'll see I guess....

Achilles,

When I went for my consultation, I arrived early.  I managed to see Dr Fielding sooner since it wasn't all that busy at that time.  Upon leaving, the office was packed so it depends...

Did you call Leslie to find out if you could see the doctor sooner?

They were closed when I called on Friday and not open on the weekend, so I'm calling first thing in the morning tomorrow.  I hope it won't be a problem, but who knows...I've been looking forward to this appointment since I booked it and it would suck if I had to reschedule.

I called this morning and I was told to come in at 12:30 and if someone doesn't show they'll let me in early.  So I jus booked my train ticket and I'm pumped for the consultation now!

Woohoo,

Right on!  Sure beats the hell out of re-scheduling. The consult itself doesn't take very long so you should be fine if they take you in a little early.

Time sure does fly.  It's already been more than a month since my consultation...

Achilles,

Surgery went very well.  I was booked for 12:30 and arrived at 10:00.  Changed into my garments and then waited until 12:45 when Dr Fielding came and got me.   I must say I wasn't very nervous.  I felt I was in good hands.  It really isn't as bad as I thought it would be.  Dr Fielding was joking with me trying to put me at ease.  Next thing I remember I'm in the recovery area.
The worst part I must say was the sore throat I had when I woke up (lasted about a day) from having the tube down my throat.  I haven't taken any pain killers since Thursday night.  I have felt no pain yesterday or today.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the post op for the removal of the bandages.  Since they are closed on Monday, I can't call until Tuesday to find out.
The drive home to Ottawa was pretty interesting...damn traffic on the Don Valley Parkway!!!  I slept most of the way home.  I was tired!!!  Got home around midnight.
My mobility is getting better every day.  It seems that the foam pads are limiting my mobility since they are glued to my chest and it starts pulling at the skin if I stretch too much.
i must say that my chest is looking flat even with the foam pads on!  Feels great...
