Hello everyone! First post here.

I've had gynecomastia since I can remember, and I've recently booked surgery with a Doctor in Montreal. It is coming up in a few days.

I've always thought I had big amounts of gland by feeling my nipples (they feel very rubbery and lumpy to me) But my doctor insisted that I had "marbled gland" meaning kind of "spread out" from what I understood, not like one big mass, and that lipo only would get me solid results.

So I listened to him and accepted, and it cost 1500$ less also.

I figure I'll try it out and see what happens.

I already had my pre-op visit where they take my blood and all, and they keep telling me that I need someone (like a family member) to escort me out of the hospital. Yet I read on here that people simply drive away from their surgery. I even asked if I could just call a cab to drive me home, and they said no, someone has to be with me to sign my release stuff. I don't want to tell anyone that I'm having this surgery done for various reasons. I even managed to lie myself out of work for a week. So here are my questions.

How would you get out of this predicament? Can't I just sign my own release, call a cab and get outta there? They can't force me to stay there can they?

Has anyone also had just lipo when they felt they needed lipo + excision, and got screwed over? Does the doctor usually just charge the extra cost of excision? Example: Lipo is 3000$. Excision + lipo is 4500$. Will future excision, if only lipo does not give good results, just cost 1500$?

Thanks so much guys!

Post links to the threads where these guys are saying that they 'simply drive away'...

Yeah really... what are the gonna do if you insist on leaving by yourself? Do they call in S.W.A.T. or something???   ::)   However, If you do leave on your own... DO NOT DRIVE A VEHICLE!!!  You will still have some potent meds inside you that will take at least 24 hours to dissipate...
