Surgery costs compared to the USA

For the Canadians in the house.  Is surgery generally cheaper in Canada than the US?  I had an idea that it might be since Canada relies more on a socialized system of healthcare than a privatized system.

The full cost of surgery is comparable. However, govenment funded health care programs here in Canada cover the majority of surgery fees.

The reason it's cheap it because our government PAYS for the Gyne Surgery. The only thing we have to pay is the liposuction because it's comestic.

I dont know if an American will get their gyne sergury paid for them.
