Congrats Actorboob,

great to hear that you are satisfied with the results.  I am happy to hear this and I can only hope that my results are just as good.

Just a nice flat chest! Nothing hanging, no breasts! Nothing! Came home and tried some t shirts on that I never wore before...

As the song goes... "Oh what a feeling!!!"   ;)

I'd post pics, but I dunno how!

It's real easy dude...  Go to a photo hosting website ( many are free ;) ) and upload your pic(s). When you've done that, right click on the image that you've just uploaded and you can either 'Copy Image' or 'Copy Image Location'. If you select 'Copy Image', then you can paste the image itself into your post. If you select 'Copy Image Location', then you can paste a link to the pic into your post. You can get fancy with the later... If you want to know how, let me know...

So... If you want to post your pic directly into your post, after you've chosen 'Copy Image' at the image hosting site, go to Gyne.org and get into a message post... once there, click on the picture frame icon. It's directly below the 'I' italic font icon. This will give you an [im g][/im g] (no space between the m and g, I had to put in the space to get it to display in this message). Then just 'paste' the info from the image hosting site between the img brackets.

To past a 'link' to your pic into your post, just click on 'Copy Image Location' at the image hosting site, go to the post a message page at Gyne.org, right click and 'paste' the link into the post.

If you have any probs, just let me know...  ;)

6 days post op!!! Very little bruising, very little swelling so far, no hematoma- just a nice flat chest! Nothing hanging, no breasts! Nothing!

Keep in mind dude that it will, more than likely, get worse before it gets better ( as you prolly already know... ;) ). Many guys get paranoid when the swelling sets in... they think that the G has returned and the surgery was for naught. You have to give your body at least 3 months to heal... 6 months is better as not everyone heals at the same rate. PS's ask you to give it a full year before making judgments on final results... However, most are fully healed by the 6 month mark... ;)

Be patient with your healing progress...

Ok guys, here are my before and afters..

My before was taken the day before surgery (Aug 26th) and the After was taken 6 days post op (Sept 1)

I've been wearing my vest religiously and not much has changed since my after pic.  I'll do one in a week or so.

I must say, that after this surgery, my weight is falling off... not that I'm complaining.. ive lost 8 lbs since the surgery! (and it cant be all boob, since he only took out about a cup)

Well, I'm happy. If it looks like this now, can't wait to see what it looks like when its healed and i'm doing my P90X workouts again!

How do you find the compression vest? Is it machine washable? I can't imagine wearing something 24/7 for 3 weeks without cleaning it.

Also, after surgery, how noticeable would you say the compression vest and gauze/padding is? I have a friend picking me up from the airport 2 days after surgery, and would like to keep the whole ordeal private. Is it noticeable? Can it be concealed with a hooded sweatshirt?

Your photos look good. Congratulations!!

Thanks Radio!

Yeah, when I had the foam pads on for the first week, I looked like I had huge pecs.. but thats about it.

I just wore baggy t shirts and zip up hoodies and jackets. It wasn't that noticable.  I hadn't told my family about it and the only time I thought my brother thought something was up was when we were out to dinner and he was staring at my chest coz it looked like HUGE pecs were busting through my t shirt.  I excused myself and put my hoodie on in the bathroom.

The compresssion vest is ok.. The first week of wearing it after surgery was gross. I smelled like a tampon coz I leaked a lot of blood/sera after the surgery on my left side.  I ended up taking showers by wrapping the vest with pajama pants and then aiming the shower head at my legs. If you have a hand held shower head, it'll be easier to keep clean.

After getting the pads off, I went home and sprayed shout all over the blood stains and they came out in the wash. I wash the vest about every 2 days now. I throw it in the washing machine while im in the shower I'm in the shower so that I minimize the amount of time I'm without a vest. Its like a nylon material so it dries very quickly in the drier.  The instructions say to hand wash and hang dry, but I can't be bothered. I can't wait till the 14th when I dont have to wear it again.

The annoying thing is the length of the vest. it stops at mid torso, so it cuts into my love handles. After surgery  i was quite swollen so it was cutting me at funny spots.  But nothing I can't endure for another week and a bit!

Thanks for the info. I think I'll start a thread to see how other people have managed with washing their compression vests. I simply cannot afford to be smelly while wearing that thing for 3 straight weeks—for the sake of both my professional life and social life. Perhaps I could get a 2nd vest fitted after surgery, and wear the 2nd one while the first is being washed.

How many days post-op did you have to wait until your first shower? Are there any special bathing protocols you must follow?

Good for you!  I am glad you are happy with the results.  Too bad your as computer illiterate as I am.  I would love to see the results.  Oh well, in less than 3 weeks I will be waiting to take the vest off of myself.   I am older than most of you guys so my big concern is that the skin has enough elasticity to bounce back into shape.  :D

Hey!

Travelbum, I did post some after pics, scroll up!

Well here is a 15 day post op update. So far so good!

A few weird things did happen, but I assume it's part of the healing process and won't worry bout it too much.
First off, most of the bruising is gone except for some darkness around the nip areas. My right side looks a whole lot better than
my left, but that's coz my left side had more gland and fat.

My left nipple is indented in the mornings and almost an outie at night. Not sure what's up there.

There is a hard lump feeling about a half inch below my left nipple and I have difficulty moving my left arm in all directions or even stretching it completely. My right side is posing no such problems. Just sucks for me coz my left hand is the dominant hand.

I was super diligent about the vest except for a few days where I spent about four or five hours without it as I had work related stuff which I wasn't able to wear the vest inconspicuously.

But let me tell you how awesome it felt to just put on a t shirt and go! I was able to, for the first time
in my life, wear jeans and a t shirt and feel confident!!!  I actually kept looking for reflections so I could get a glance to see if my chest looked boobish but it didn't!!! And when the wind blew I looked down and no pointys were sticking out!!!

But yeah, is it bad to not wear the vest occasionally? It's really annoying. I wear it through the night and most
of the day, just sometimes for auditions or wardrobe fittings it's not appropriate.

I also hope my innie left nipple sorts itself out.

Will post more after pics shortly.

Well, I dont honestly think you are required to wear vest 24/7 for three weeks. If you wash it for example every fourth day with a short program (usually around 30 mins, depending on you washing machine) and let the vest dry for ~15 mins... I dont think 45 mins every fourth day without vest is doing you any harm. At least no more than a smelly bacteria infested stinking vest :D

Of course you need to use your head and not do any acrobatics or lift weights during that 45 min break. I went to shower and read some book while laying on sofa during my "breaks" from vest and I didnt experience any problems.

I'm not a doctor so If anyone knows better, feel free to correct me. :)

Did you just tumble dry your surgical compression vest? Did it shrink or alter shape?
