Was watching a new series on HULU last night called “Best Medicine” and gynecomastia came up! It was a decent part of shows first two episodes. I have never seen or heard of this being on any show other than occasionally showing up on a couple of daytime talk shows. Anyone else see the show or have it part of any other show besides Sienfeld?

I have on the TV show that aired on PBS called Doc. Martin.  There a man came in to see him, was diagnosed with it and the Doc had to figure out why. The woman he was having an affair with was using an estrogen cream and he was exposed to it that way.

I hope your show cast a good light on it and not all shame.

This is very interesting. My wife was on a hormone treatment called Wiley protocol. It was a cream. After a couple of months we noticed that a friends female dog we took care of once in awhile, that her Yoo-hoo was swollen. But never at home with her owner. Only when we took care of her. And then about 6 months later I had ED. Then my breasts started growing. That’s when my doctor told me after testing for several things that I had a hormonal imbalance.
Hmmmm…now this is starting to make sense. My wife and I just had a conversation about it after reading this. At the time it was a controversial therapy and today it still is. This really upsets me. Not at my wife but at the whole hormone treatment crap. Especially this Wiley protocol.

At 75, we are still sexually active.  She had been on estradiol for several years. It is a vagina cream.

My diagnosis was 14 years ago.  Well before she began this regime.  I know this didn't trigger the beginning.  Mammograms show slow growth every two years.

Life is a box of chocolates.  Enjoy what you get.

I wrote earlier today on another thread that my former wife and good friend meets with a doctor next week who specializes in working with menopausal women about hormone replacement therapy.  I've no idea what that will entail, but I'm very curious.  We don't live together and don't have a sexual relationship so my interest has more to do with changes in my body and whether this will give me the opportunity to share all of that with her.  Yes, bodies change with time.  I'm shocked at how I've changed... in ways we've discussed on this website... but as oldguy reminds us... Life is a box of chocolates.  Enjoy what you got."  Thank you Forrest.

50/50 I understand and empathize with that. Creams and medicines can be completely transferrable to a partner when in contact with it and even claims of near enough that it may absorb to you somehow. My wife has PCOS and a cream she used initially gave me similar issues. Her dr confirmed it can be a result if in contact in any way especially if regularly. So she switched to a pill rather than lotion but it's crazy how things can shift so easily by these things and ways.

My wife was using that cream for 7 years. It really messed me up for sure. Wiley protocol was and still is controversial. A pharmacy has to mix it. Most pharmacies wouldn’t even touch the stuff. Had to find one over a hundred miles away. Should have been a red flag then. Oh well… all hindsight now.☹️

Sometimes the best medicine is the one that is hard to find. My wife uses a Lavender Oil lotion for soothing scent and moisturizing. My lotion and moisturizer that's just a general oatmeal based one ran out in like September and asked if I could use hers till I got to the store. I actually enjoyed it got some for myself and morning and night I'd use it for moisturizer. After about 2 months ED kicked back up and my chest was growing more. Only thing different in my day to day was the lotion. General search returned that lavender oil is a renown hormone disruptor and strong estrogenic compounds. Thought wtf and quit using it and after about a month my ED faded but my chest continued to grow a little. Went from a mild B cup to C cup. Was hoping the tissue would regress after discontinuing and it was just inflamed, but no such luck. Especially if already estrogen dominant, gotta be careful round these things.

My experience is once the tissue is grown it’s glandular & is there to stay. Muscle & fat cells can shrink or get spent as energy but not glandular cells.

That is true. Which why I never understood why we are told at any age, it will go away in a couple months, meanwhile in a couple years we find that isn't not only true, but it has multiplied in size. Muscle can tighten the tissue but it projects it as well as it builds under. Weight loss and dietary habits can significantly minimize adipose tissue in the glands and around it and as the fat loss takes place so does chest size to a degree. Problem is estrogen loves fat, breast tissue loves fat, so getting it to go away compared to other areas of the body isn't as quickly seen.
