Hello all....sorry if this topic has  already been covered but do ADD stimulants cause or aggravate gyno?? I' read somewhere that anmphetimes do and Adderal or Dexerdine are considered amp. I read that they raise DHEA levels not sure if this the cause.....if any Doc's are around.....do you know if one must stop these drugs prior to surgery and again will they cause gyno to come back after surgery??

Dr Bermant has a fairly comprehensive list of drugs for which Gynecomastia is a potential side effect.

See his site, the list is there.

The usual concerns of the surgeon would be drugs that interfere in some way with clotting.

Stimulant drugs may be an issue as well because they may influence your pulse and/or blood pressure. These effects may be relative or not depending upon the dosage and the specific drug used. General answers thus will not contain the specific information you are looking for. Usually, if you need to go off the medications, it is only for a few days.

Often, the Surgeon and/or Anesthesiologist can effectively compensate for the effects of medications if they are aware of what they are dealing with in advance. In this regard, you should keep no secrets from either the Surgeon or the Anesthesiologist and your questions should be directed to them.
