My mom is a nurse and keeps telling me that taking testosterone prescription supplements could cause problems later on in life such as prostate cancer, and like you guys say, it might cause your natural testosterone output to drop.  I believe gyno is caused by an imbalance in testosterone and estrogen.  In my case, I have a low testosterone according to my endocrinologist, who knows of my gyno problem. However, my T levels are still within range, just at the lower end.
Still, I believe there is a solution. My mom tells me about estrogen blockers and binding drugs. They are prescription drugs, probably expensive, but instead of increasing your T levels, they bind with your estrogen in your body and take it away, causing the balance to be in favor of your testosterone.

(I am taking HGH now because I went took an insulin test where my insulin drops to almost nothing and HGH should kick in because of the stress of no insulin. My HGH did not kick in, flatline.  So, my endo wants me to grow every inch I can, even though I'm 20, and taking testosterone would defeat that purpose since it causes the fusion of bones.)
