Is it Because We Are All Different?

I found this site a few days ago. I've been reading story after story. Some are good and some have me concerned! I'm wondering if my PS has fully prepared me for my post-op. He said "Well you will be sore a few weeks and have to take it easy for a month and a half but after that you'll be fine." He didn't mention anything about possible problems with scar tissue are other things ive read on this site.

Are some guys stories worst than others because maybe their gyne was worse than others??

I'm not that worrieded about it. I'm just ready to get it over with and start the recovery to a shirtless summer! Just wanting some feedback ! Thanks Guys!

Yeah I'm in the same position as you pal. Only just started looking into it. Of the stories I've seen, the people most similar to my case have all had awesome results, which is pleasing. I think I have a milder case than others I've seen here though. The severity differs in every case, so do other variables like body healing ability, treatment and the care you take after I guess.

Basically there really is no way to tell until it's all said and done.  You just have to trust your plastic surgeon and keep your fingers crossed.  Make sure you ask your plastic surgeon also about how soon you can expose your chest to the sun.  My surgeon told me six months.  Sunlight exposure too early can cause a change of color in the pigmentation.  Just something to consider, nothing to worry about though.  Good luck!

Make sure your ps is up to the task. Meaning having done hundreds of these proceures. Granted a PS can be gifted and do an awesome job starting with his first gynecomastia procedure. But do you want to take a chance? You want to see lots of before/after shots of your surgeon's work on gyne, beable to talk to a past patient, and generally feel  confident with him. As far as post-op, yeah it sux, it's worth it though.

scarring depends on the patient and procedure, but i've become convinced like manzeer says, with no evidence to back it up, that some surgeons are better than others at preventing its recurrence.

Yes. He told me he does probaly 4 or 5 a month. Went in took pictures and he had the computer program that showed me what it would look like after the surgery. He said he does mostly body builders that have taken steriods and got the gyne that way. I don't have a bad case of gyne but i'm not a body builder either. He showed me work he has done before and it looked great. I am very confident. I guess i'm just worried how my chest will turn out in the long run. Seems like most guys here have many different results.

don't think i've heard of the computer program, what did it do?  did it try to predict your specific outcome somehow based on what you had, based on measurements or something?  or was it just a generic video on the screen?  this sounds like a new one.

It was acutally pretty cool! They took pictures and then pulled them up on the computer. Kind of like a photoshop program and he could take his mouse and click the area and then drag it in making it look like I didn't have gyne! I went to other surgeron a year ago and he didn't have anything like this. When I asked him for pictures of past work. He said he didn't have any so I found this new guy and he seems to know his stuff! The whole experience kind remind of the show Nip/Tuck really nice place. Beautiful women everywhere!

that does sound pretty cool.  hope his experience matches the graphic effects.  if only it were as easy in real life as dragging a mouse
