Black nipple

I am 8 days post op from a revision surgery that consisted of excision/lipo and areola reduction.  I know there is alot going on in there right now but I'm a little alarmed.  My left nipple is almost half black.  I saw the PS yesterday and he said to keep an eye on it but he has seen this before. He was vague when I asked him of the expected outcome.  I would like to know if anyone has experienced or read of anyone here that this has happen to and what was the end result.  I would appreciate any input you can provide me with.

I've tried to think of something positive to say. I don't know, man. That sounds like dying tissue to me. I'd to go an emergency room ASAP. Forget that "keep an eye on it" crap.
