Board certification question

When looking for a surgeon, I know it's important that he/she be board certified, usually by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

However, my endocrinologist highly recommended a surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Surgery. Her expertise is in "vascular, laproscopic and breast procedures."

Is the fact that she's not certified in plastic surgery ia "red flag"? OR does her certification in general surgery give her plenty of credentials for gyn surgery, along with her experience with gynecomastia and my endocrinologist's recommendation?
