Dudes. I'm so ticked off. I've been taking zinc like a wild man and now I realize that it is an antiandrogen. I'm almost done with my first tube of Andractim and now realizing this makes me feel like I've been wasting it. I take alot of zinc and now I feel like a total fool. DANG.

I also just found out it is especially effective with vitamin B6, which I have been taking alot of vitamin B as well. Man this sucks. I'm stopping immediately. ARGH

Hypo, do you know anything about this? I'm hoping by stopping the Zinc will stop having an effect on the DHT. Will it be in my system awhile? I've been taking 50mg a day or so of both zinc and vitamin B while on andractim.

Zinc works as an anti aromatase meaning it prevents the conversion of testosterone to estrogens in some men, particularly those who are deficient.  This according to many national surveys in the US is quite a substantial percentage of the general populous.

Supplementation should be in accordance with your doctors instructions or be in line with Recommended Daily Allowances.

It should be taken as a supplement that also contains copper as Zinc alone can cause an imbalance in copper and make you feel lousy.

Zinc is said to mediate/lower excess DHT which is what Andractim is, however the idea that it would have any real affect against the dose involved in Andractim is just not credible.  At the same time Zinc helps prevent testosterone conversion to estrogens.  So its effects are somewhat contradictory.

It is hard to see how Zinc overall has any negative effect on the androgen to estrogen balance given that many hypogonadal men report feeling better when taking Zinc, in other words they feel they have a better androgen to estrogen balance when supplementing it to their diet, not a worse one.

For this reason, many endocrinologists actively recommend the use of Zinc supplementation in hypogonadal men to improve the androgen to estrogen balance.

e.g.

Dr Eugene Shippen in his book the Testosterone Syndrome does exactly this.

Andractim should not be self medicated- it is not with out its issues!!!

If you are not listening:( at the very least ensure that you use the PSA kit and you obtain an appointment with an endocrinologist after you have used it to make sure you are ok!!!
