Endocrinologist Appt.

I will be having my first appointment with an Endocrinologist. But I can't get in till the 27th of January 26. My initial onset of gyno was in April of this year. 2025.  I never had Gyno back in my teens growing up and never out of range with my weight either. I'm only a little bit over the prefered weight I think I should be. Imo.

Back in 2017 I was diagnosed with Ménière's disease. And inter ear issue that causes vertigo and hearing lose. I had an MRI on my brain to rule out the possibility of a tumor on the pituitary gland. Came back negative.

My Gp and other doctors determined my condition as idiopathic due to all my recent full panel of labs coming back in range for me at my age of 64.
 
So I thought I would consult some of the members be on the endo topic who have had plenty of experience with Endocrinologist?

What can and I expect from my first visit to an Endocrinologist and what questions should i lay out to get answers for?

Depends on the openness of the Edno themselves. Typically its suppose to be wholly professional. But biases do creep in. 

The thing to remember is be honest and frank with the session. Don't hesitate to tell them what is happening, but do not let them persuade or bully you to do something you do not.  Expect tests and poss. MRI-CT-Mammogram.

 I'm learning how doctors aren't all what I can expect with truthful or real educated information. And from what I have recently experienced with so called professional healthcare providers leads me to doing more and more research for answers I'm not getting from doctors. ERRRR!  

All I'm looking for right now is the facts on to what my real underling cause is so I know where the root cause came from? That way I decide wear I'm headed here and what I feel I need to do about my condition? Weather fix it or except and deal with it?.

Idiopathic? Nonsense! Gyno dosen't just suddenly appear out of no wear at my age with no root or underling cause. 

I feel I can eventually except my gyno if I find there isn't something to serious enough that it will eventually kill me.

So Ill give you a quick story on the mammogram i had. First they clinic had a separate men's waiting area. but while checking in a lady saw me at the check in and watched me like a hawk. Why wasn't I in the corner cowering and not looking at any "Girl stuff"?  Then came the exam itself. The attendant was good and she was professional and not surprised.  Then the doctor came out. He was very nice, good bedside manner, very professional and knowledgeable and VERY dismissive!   

Without saying it, he told me, that he took my man card, cut it up, burned it, put it in a bottle and sent it to the bottom of the Marianas Trench. 

Hate to say it, but men without girls DONT KNOW!!!  

There is a deep bias and i work very hard to go with female doctors. Because they get it.

My last mammogram all went well, no separate waiting room.
The latest appointment was canceled by the radiologist even though the NCCN guidelines state I should have one every year despite my age . (75)

The CHEK 2 mutation that puts me at 40% chance of breast cancer.
Go figure!

Starting over here in Tennessee. Those in WA state ( oncologist ) flat out said ‘ I can’t deal with this, it’s not in my wheelhouse’. Have MEN Syndrome & had colon cancer. They were so much help at that clinic & hospital.

Tax. Your experience you described with the doctor from your mammogram was quite uncalled for. No professional respect or bedside manor there. 

I was thankful to have the two ladies who performed mine. The one gal was being trained to be a tech. Handle her job and herself well with respect. 

Of course I had my wife with me too. Which made me feel better for this was my first time.

My last mammogram went very well, and the attendant told me, "you can put your bra and blouse back on ma'am" as she finished. 

The one before that was horrible.  I sat in the waiting room for hours watching women arrive, check in, and be ushered back. After about 6 hours they finally called me back and there were two techs in the room with me. I asked what took so long and one tech said the other tech was uncomfortable at having me alone in the room with her, so they had to wait until two girls were available.  

They basically had me sit for hours because the tech felt uncomfortable.
