After years of steroid abuse I have developed gynecomastia. I need the surgery bad but have lack of funds and not the best credit. Am I totally screwed? I am 33 years old with a well paying job. If anyone has any suggestions or help in this matter it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If you have a 'well paying job' then why can you not afford the cost of surgery?

That sux Dude!  :-/

My surgery was about approx $5000 ( Canadain coin ). That would be about $4000 USD.  My out of pocket was $1280 including tax. The difference was picked up by OHIP ( Ontario Health Insurance Plan ). The $1280 was for the Lipo portion of the proceedure. OHIP deems Lipo to be cosmetic and will not pay for that.

I paid the $1280 with cash.

Here are the costs I have incurred so far:

$4040 for gyne removal, vest, and hospital fees
$195 for initial blood work
$229 for further blood work
$67 for endocrinologist appointment (I'm a student and she's extremely nice)
$30 roughly for pre-op vitamins

That's about $4600 or so.  I did get very generous prices on my blood work because a friend owns a blood screening company, and I got my blood tests for nearly his cost.  For the tests I got I would have probably paid well over $700.

I am not financing my surgery.

$5K for the gynecomastia correction and love handles lipo.  The indiidual breakdown was 2/3 respectively.

the gynecomastia portion of my initial surgery was $3700 for the PS fee, $875 for the hospital, and then the anesthesia fee probably brought it all up to about $5000.  The PS fee included all office visits and revisions.

Do they give discounts if you have more than one plastic surgery at once? I got up to 330 lbs - have lost a little over a 100 now, and I will wait until I am at my ideal weight - 170 - before I get the surgery. I fear I probably will need a tummy tuck due to being so heavy...would i get a discount if I got them at the same time?
