Just wondering if anyone who has had the surgery can give me any advice. I am due to have surgery soon and I was planning on going to Dubai 4 weeks after the surgery date.

I'm just worried about going over because of the heat and the need to be wearing a compression vest. Would I get away without wearing it seeing as how it's a month later? Is it possible to know if I will have any bruising or visable marks?
I know I can't take my top off as I would expose my scars to sunlight but if I could wear a vest so the heat wouldn't kill me that would be good!
Any help, advice or past experiences would be greatly appreciated as I would like to get it sorted asap,
Thanks

I'm a bit more than 4 weeks post op and stopped wearing my compression vest around 3.5 weeks after my doctor said it's okay. It wasn't very sever, so maybe that's why. Obviously the scars are still visible and I wouldn't be too comfortable without my shirt just yet as everything is still healing, however, I've already been to the gym etc and there is no pain or anything whatsoever, so I would say you should be good after 4 weeks for sure. However, talk to your surgeon, for some people it might be beneficial to wear the vest for like 6 weeks:)

I would relate to my case as below:

Post 4 weeks, there was little bruising. But the incision mark was prominently visible. Someone looking at your bare chest will definitely not miss it. Chances of seroma wd still be there, because in my case I developed seroma in my 3rd week which is still persisting (39 days post op) and I have not taken off my pressure garment more than 30 min/ 1 hr per day till today. So taking off that garment would be risky in my opinion. Also, I was strongly advised to wear it if I am doing any outdoor physical activity.
