Gyno? Help a dad out!

I have been told two different things. I can get this treated through lipo and surgery and then another doctor told me no lipo just surgery. This scars would be large and would have to relocate both nipples after the incision?  preventing them from being able to become erect?

Help me out here please!

In this situation, both surgeons are correct.

Your one photo reveal moderate gynecomastia with asymmetry.  You are also overweight and appear to be in your 40's or 50's.  Yet, your gyne is bothering you or else you would not have consulted two surgeons.

Lipo and open excision is an excellent way to proceed.  It would be the least complicated of the two alternatives.  The results would most likely be a flatter chest albeit with some residual asymmetry of the nipples (and perhaps some looser skin on the left side).  But, the nipples would retain sensitivity.

The other option is a much more major operation which involves surgically removing the excess breast tissue and some skin on both sides and then re-locating the nipples so that they would be symmetric.  There would be larger scars and nipples which would most likely lose their sensitivity.

You can go either way, depending upon the results you desire.  If you were my dad, I might opt for the smaller procedure, which should help in many ways but would be easier to tolerate, shorter surgery and anesthesia, and most likely easier on your pocketbook as well. I don't think you are planning a new career as a male model!

Sometimes the better choice is something less than perfect but yet perfectly acceptable.

thank you for the reply. I am in my 30's actually. I lost over 200 lbs, figuring this was the issue (weight) would my chances be better (for looking not resolving) if i lost more weight? would the skin tighten more this resulting in less symmetry issues?  Thanks again

Unfortunately, losing more weight will not substantially help you in your treatment of gynecomastia, although every pound you lose does make you healthier overall.

I had Gynecomastia surgey and I'm very happy.I didn't have nipples re-positioned but lost both nipples due to necrosis.It looks fine and a stranger wouldn't be able to tell.It was worth the loss for the excellent results.Massage of the area is important so the procedure inside doesn't become attached but I'm  beyond thrilled
