Well hello again evorybody please keep in mind what i am posting is a very serious matter to me and do to my sons young age i am looking for any helpful suggestions on how to approach this matter. well my story begins with me in the bathroom changing my shirt as is my normal routine as I am ashamed to take my shirt off around anyone bear in mind i have been keeping my condition hidden from my kids family and friends and as mentioned. In one of my previous posts I have been living with this condition since the age of 13 i plan on getting surgery in the near future too correct my gyne which is still a good 1 to 2yrs away and right now with age and weight gain I am at least a c cup anyway my 5 yr old son walked in on me as I was changing and saw my chest for the first time I sumwhat scolded him too shut the door when I finished changing I went to address him and apologize to him for yelling at him as he did nothing wrong he just merely needed  to use the restroom before I could even begin he says daddy why do u have boobs I thought only girls had boobs now knowing how to respond out of shame I told him we will discuss it further tmrw and not to worry this is very embarrassing for me to even post but any positive feedback on how I should approach this would be greatly appreciated.

One day my toddler grand-daughter took notice. "Paa Paw, oo gots boos!" I responded: "Yes dear, everyone does though they are usually larger on ladies than on men. But, Some ladies have smaller ones and some men have bigger ones." "Mine daddy doesn't has boos." she said. "He does, but they are very tiny and flat so you never noticed." was my come-back. "OK" It was all the explanation the child wanted.

As a teen, She had an intestinal cancer. Now grown, Her radiation treatments and chemotherapy have left her unable to conceive. In a family where most of the men do have gynecomastia, she is the child of my daughter but inherited her small breasts from her father's side of the family. She remains the only member of the family to have had breast surgery.... Augmentation. With 7 male relatives having Gynecomastia. She could not handle being only a C.

My grandchildren would never have it occur to ask why does grandpa have boobs?  Dad has them.  It's a complete non-event for the children.  Just as Paa-Paw said, keep the answers simple.  By five my kids had few questions about bodies and then it was "why are some people so fat?"  We were nudists and they all saw bodies and had any questions answered as soon as they voiced them  in the way 2-3 year old kids ask them, innocently.  We hadn't hidden bodies for 5 years so there was no misleading to undo and no strained energies about the subject.

At this point I might explain to him about body shame and why you feel it, in simple terms and not loaded with energy and fear along with a simple explanation of the variations, men and women.  Everybody has nipples.  Some have more breast under the nipples.

My one grandson once said, "oh ya, your the Paw-Paa with the big belly" because I'm bigger everywhere then his mothers dad. They don't see us much because We live in Minnesota and they live in Wyoming so when we get togetter we don't hid anything either because if we go there it is very small home and you can't go anywhere to hid.

I've never hid myself from anyone in my family, kids or grand kids. We were deer hunting last November, staying at my daughters farm. My brother and best friend hunted with me, I hid nothing. In the VA hospital December 9-10 for surgery in a 4 man room and I hid nothing, nothing was ever said accept by me! I made a little joke about my big DD"s when I told the nurses not to get jealous about being so much smaller! We all had a good laugh. 2 marines 2 navy vets.

Don't underestimate  your families understanding, or others, for that matter, my family and friends are great support!
