as you can see in my pictures, i get keloids. I have surgery coming up in 2 months here. Is it worth it to get the surgery and develop keloids or should i just live with this gyno? what would you do??

Surgery, no surgery is your choice alone! It can't be made for you as you are the one that as to live with the breast!

Now ask me if I have any problem with living with mine? Due to health problems mine have become very large at the bra size of 46H! At 56 I've learn to accept them and I will not have surgery to remove them! I've had many surgeries, and I may need another depending on what the next MRI shows about by back. So I don't fear them I just don't think its worth the trouble!

If you can't live with them and feel that it's worth thousands of dollars to get them removed, then go for it, but otherwise, grow old gracefully with the rest of us and accept mother natures changes, as most men get them as we grow old!

I would go for surgery and accept the trade-offs; specially now that you have chosen your surgeon, made the appointment and paid at least for the deposit.  But before doing so, I would shed some pounds.

First, these are not keloids -- they are poor scars which are still red.  Why were those incisions made??

Yes, you do have gyne -- and you are also overweight.  It would be best to lose as much weight as possible going into gyne surgery.  It might be possible to perform the entire gyne operation through the old scars -- so there wouldn't be any new scars.  And, if the situation is possible (to be determined by your plastic surgeon), the present scars on your chest might be able to be improved either by surgical scar revision or other means, such as cortisone injections, lasers, etc.

It is therefore possible that you could get your gyne surgery and have better scars at the same time.  Best to check with your plastic surgeon.

i am always shocked however at generalists doing hack jobs on people.  a competent ps would know to cut on the areolar edges instead of leaving big asymmetrical scars visible like that.  always get it done with somebody who knows how to respect your aesthetics.  good luck.
