hi, i was wondering; how did tell other people about gyne? and was it awkard to speak to your doctor about it.

ive got a doctors appointment on tuesday and im going to bring it up and im nervous in case the doctor doesnt understand.

I told my girlfriend only and she was and will be the only person who will ever no, But maybe tell your parent's to see if they can help with the cost's, what country are you in?

Yes bring it up with the doctor, If the doctor doesnt understand book an appointment with a gynecomastia surgeon to see what he thinks.

If its Genuine gynecomastia the only way to get rid of it is via Liposuction and excition or just excition, Lyposuction on its own will not work.

id go straight to a gynecomastia specialist. based on what ive read, even plastic surgeons in general dont know much about gyne treatment.. and the more with just any regular doctor.

once i saw a gyne specialist, i immediately felt comfortable. these guys meet hundreds and thousands of people with this problem..
now if u have an appointment with just any doctor.. any surgeon, any plastic surgeon, then you may feel uncomfortable.. they might even make you feel worse since they have no clue what gynecomastia is, like explaining the color green to a blind person.

I knew what it was but to increase my chances of insurance approving me, I went in complaining of chest pain since 12, doctor diagnosed it and told me only thing to do is surgery after some test. The insurance policy stated not covered if purely cosmetic surgery/psychological. So I acted confident during test with shirt removed.

I grew up in a time and place where it would have been impossible to keep such a thing secret.

Starting in grade 7 (Junior High School) Physical Education was compulsory With it was the need to change clothes and shower with privacy being nonexistent. This situation continued through High School.

After Graduation, I went right into the Air Force and barracks life afforded no privacy either.

Based upon my own experiences, I wonder at the number of young men who are, or claim to be, keeping their condition secret.

i guess whats secret is that 'it bothers you'..

it doesnt take a rocket scientist to see gyne, but then so many people have it.. but how much is it being talked about? i think the secret is when someone 'pretends its not there'. ive pretended it wasnt there my whole life.. i even convinced myself i didn't have it. i worked out religiously and was so social phobic.. but it didn't really sink into my brain that i was doing it becoz of my gyne.. the secrets you keep hidden even to yourself that just a thought of someone else knowing would be unbearable

In High School, I wrestled. I seriously hurt a guy who thought my condition was a good source for his amusement.

When I was in Basic training (USAF) There was another guy in my outfit who simply made a better victim. He took the heat for both of us.

The point being that you do not have to volunteer to be a victim. When the teasing does not get the desired result, it usually stops or at least slows.

Truly we are our own worst enemies.
