Okay, I'm pretty sure I have Gynecomastia.  The reason I say this is because I've had rather large breasts for years now.  I know some of it is due to fat but, is it possible for someone who took Predisone (an oral steroid) for years to develop Gynecomastia?  What are the treatment options?  Can you take any meds. to help reduce breast size or is surgery the only option?

Over the years I have dealt with people picking on my about my breast size and I've always blown them off but, it's starting to bother me now.  I have changed my life due to the fact that I have large breasts.  I will not go out in public with out a shirt.  I don't even like to let my wife see me with out a shirt.  I'm so self conscious about it.  Please let me know what my options are?

Gynecomastia is not a recognized side effect of taking prednisone.

If you have had enlarged breasts for two years or long, odds are that it will not disappear by itself.  If you lose significant amounts of weight, your breasts (the fat component) will obviously diminish in size as well.
