I recently found out that one of the causes can be kidney failure. i am a diabetic and have just been diagnosed with chronic kidnet disease. I had the gyno before getting diagnosed with renal failure but the gyne has come back a little and I was wondering at what stage of kidney disease would gyne appear?  I had gyno since I was a teenager so it wasn't the initial cause but I was wondering if it could be a factor.

I'm not trying to pick on the way you wrote this, but I doubt gynecomastia is caused by kidney failure, even in some individuals. My reasoning being kidney failure would probably kill you before you had a chance to see if gynecomastia was present. There might, however, (and I think this is what you meant) be a correlation between kidney disease and the increased likelihood of having gynecomastia.

Renal (Kidney) failure is not as much a single point as it is a range. I'm not certain to what degree kidney function would impact gynecomastia. Liver function can be a factor though and in a more direct way since the liver deals with our surplus Estrogen.

At the same time, either kidney or liver function might have a significant impact upon whether or not you should consider elective surgery. The degree of impairment could be a deciding factor as to whether or not you are a good surgical candidate.

Since you are a diabetic, I will presume that you are already under the care of an Internal Medicine specialist or Endocrinologist. Your questions should be directed to your Doctor, and also the questions as to whether your health is good enough to allow the surgery with minimal risk.
