My endocrinologist said he has been researching Tamoxifen and said the test results of the drug are very promising.  He said bodybuilders even like 15 years ago would use it when they'd juice up so they didn't get the effects of estrogen, or if they had gyno would use it.  I got my hormones tested and he said they were all within normal range, but said i might just be more sensitive to estrogen.

So he prescribed me to take 10mg Tamoxifen twice a day and wants me to come back in 3 months.  I'm hoping this works.  He said that in the past the only thing to rid one of gyno was surgery but he said this is a pretty new breakthrough.

Let's hope you don't develope a fatal blood clot. As that's one of the possible side effects of tamoxifen.

There are side effects of every medicine out there, and the medicine wouldnt be approved if even 1 in 1000 people died from it.   Why be an ass?

actually, I think the percentage of people getting blood clots from tamoxifen is 1 in 1000.  the percentage of people that get cataracts from it is much higher, I believe 1 in 100.

It's a dangerous drug. It was approved because it's a cancer drug and the risks of taking it obviously outwiegh dying of breast cancer.

It wasn't meant to be used by people that don't have cancer. It wasn't ever intended to treat gynecomastia.

Thanks that made me feel really hopeful.  There are side effects to every drug though, if like 1 in 100,000 people get some kind of effect they have to report it.

You're mssing the point.

This is a cancer drug. That's why it's on the market. It's meant to treat a life-threatening disease, so therefore the high risks of taking it are worth it.

Just like the same people go through chemotherapy - it's worth the danger because they're already dying.

I see what you're saying, but what i don't understand is why a highly qualified endocrinologist would prescribe me this if the danger was that great.  Maybe it's because i'm only going on it for about 2 1/2 to 3 months and a low dose of 10mg twice a day?

Yeah that's probably it. You only risk cataracts if you use it for more than a year.

Although I"ve also heard that doctors get money from the drug companies if they prescribe a certain number of pills.

And just because someone is a "highly qualified" doctor doesn't mean they're not an idiot. Half the time doctors (even specialists) don't know what the f*ck they're talking about.

A lot of doctors are cocaine addicts also. Think about it, they get so much money what do you think they spend it on? The answer is hookers and cocaine. This is a statistical fact. Your endo probably snorted a big line of coke the morning before you saw him.

rofl plz ignore the fucking ignoranisis

i like how u people just come up with your own conclusions instead of researching.. i mean how hard is it to type

gynocmastia treatment tamoxifen

and find 4-5 studies using tamoxifen to treat gyno on males for prolonged periods of time.. upward to 9 months with 0 side effects, and not one complication...
