I was really thin thru my teens and into my 20's.If I had gyne then,it was very, very mild (it's still mild-although I'm getting surgery next week). In any case,I never noticed any extra breast tissue-although my nipples were probably always somewhat pointed. When I started doing a lot of chest exercises in my 20's, i started to notice some my chest getting bigger. Naturally I thought it was chest muscle-it didn't appear feminine. It never really bothered me and I never paid much attention to it.In my 30's,my chest contour started to take a more pointed appearance although not getting too much bigger. I did gain some weight during this period,I'm unsure if fat tissue made the gyne more prominent. My doctor says it was probably always there, but I'm not totally sure. I hope he is right because if it was morphing at that period of my life should I be worried? It doesn't seem to getting any bigger, but certainly bigger than from say 15 yrs ago(about age 25) I know every case is different, but does this sound like a real odd case? Could the mild gyne not been prominent since I was so skinny and once I gained weight,it pushed it out. Sorry for the rambling, any help would be appreciated.

Your story doesn't sound odd at all.

Many teens develop enlarged nipples, which by definition is gyne.  Later on, chest muscles develop and as maturity sets in, the chest naturally enlarges with both the muscle enlargement as fat deposition as well.

Hope your surgery goes well.
