need gyne surgery, tonsil removal

I need to get gyne surgery, and I also need to have my tonsils removed.  Since I will be getting knocked out of commission for a while it would be reasonable to get the procedures done on the same day.  Would it be possible?  I would love to have them both done at the same time, or would red tape prevent it from happening?

I really think that the recovery period would be much easier if done separately.  I had my tonsils out as a child and I can't imagine recovering from that AND gyne surgery at the same time.  It would also be very difficult to coordinate the two very different specialties involved with regard to surgeons to perform the separate operations.  There may be medical reasons you shouldn't do both at the same time, but I'm not sure on that one.  Anyway, if it were me I think I would rather recover completely with one, and then plan the other one separately.
