Gyne surgery is real surgery -- you cannot have an operation and then walk out and fend for yourself.

In my practice, I require patients to have an escort to take them home safely and at least stay a bit til they are settled.  Depending upon the surgery and anesthesia, patients can sometimes be OK by themselves that night -- but they really need someone to assist on the way home.  This is for the patient's safety.  The surgeon's responsibility is to get the patient home safely.

Best to discuss options with your own surgeon.
