Hello Everyone,
im fairly new to this forum, but i have found it extremely informative and helpful...

I was hoping i can get opinions on my case:

I am in my mid twenties, am 5'8" and 140lbs.
I am very active and have recently lost 20lbs.   One thing I can advise to anyone reading this is that losing
weight really does help minimize the gyne appearance.  I used it as motivation to lose weight and have lost 20 lbs in the last 7 months.
I went in for a consultation with a ps (a very good ps), and he said that I honestly did not need to get the procedure done.  He said that my chest already looked like one of his post op patients and in some cases even better.   He said if i worked on toning the pecs, they would
look even better.   I have to say, it surprised me, but im happy he was being honest with me.

My only issue is that I know my left side is slightly bigger than my right side.  If both sides were the same size as my right side,
i would have absolutely no problem, but they are not.  I have also read on these forums that many guys have puffy nipples and hard glands
behind the nipples.  I can honestly say that i have never had puffy nipples and i cant feel hard glands behind them.  The ps said that was because
my case was mostly fat and since i lost some weight, it made a physical appearance improvement.   I guess i can try to tone the pec area to get more definition, but i am wondering if anyone here has ever gotten the gyne procedure done on just one side of the chest?  Im assuming it would cost less and be under local anesthesia and the recovery period would be way less and not as harsh.

I will post pics of my case in a second.  Thank you in advance for all of your opinions.

Congrats on your weight loss.

As for your chest, just to satisfy your curiosity, you may wish to consult with another surgeon to obtain a second opinion.  Sometimes even a small amount of excess chest tissue is bothersome to a guy.  And sometimes there is chest asymmetry due to other reasons besides more tissue on one side.  You could have a larger chest muscle on one side, there may even be developmental differences of the rib cage or even spine abnormalities (like curvature -- scoliosis).  Some of these latter conditions are not easily (if at all) correctable.

Examining your chest for lumps really is not helpful -- sometimes fat will feel lumpy and breast tissue soft -- so your hands will not be able to diagnose anything at all.

good comments from the dr.  a few guys do get it on only one side, which makes the job of the ps a little harder, though if it was bad enough it'd still be an improvement.  needing it versus not needing it can be a subjective call, the guy you saw may have been comparing you in his head to some severe case he had seen a few days before.  but trying to say would depend on the pics you mention.
* a man is more than a body will ever tell
* if it screws up your life the same, is there really any such thing as "mild" gyne?

Congratulations on your weight loss! Doesn't it feel so much better with that weight gone?

The male chest can be distorted by both Gynecomastia Male Breast Enlargement. Drooping or Ptosis is a frequent problem after massive weight loss or deflation of massive muscles.

Posting Standard Pictures to Show Male Chest Drooping after weight loss can help others better understand if the loose skin component is a factor.

Distinguishing Fat from Gland can be difficult.
Fat tends to be soft, gland tends to be firm.  Fingers of gland often dissect between fingers of fat.  Look at this drawing and move your mouse over the arrows.  However, gland can be soft and fat firm confusing the picture.  Gland tends to be located under the nipple and pinching pressure can sometimes tether to the nipple pulling it in.

One Sided or Unilateral Gynecomastia is quite common.  However, more often both sides have some problem one more so than the other with Uneven or Asymmetry Gynecomastia.  Contouring both sides on uneven gynecomastia is much easier than trying to make a larger side look like a smaller deformity.

If loose skin is the primary problem, then building muscles is one way to fill the loose envelope.  However, I work with many Bodybuilders with Gynecomastia and an common complaint is that as they build muscle, what sits on top of the muscle gets pushed out further.

Hope this helps,
