You're getting caught up in your own hypothetical conclusions, for all we know it may simply be pragmatic for whatever they plan to do with the show. Before accusing Oprah of anything we should probably wait until the actual show airs and we see what this is all about.

Anyways, I would like to second the motion.. When someone hears of when this shows, please post the time.  :)

So I dont really know why this turned anti-Oprah all of a sudden, and I am not a person who could be painted as a fan given I have never watched her show.  However as far as the rich and famous go she has given millions and millions to those with out, and I dont think we shoud be calling her greedy because  she wants to profile people whom are local to her show.  I also dont believe that she is doing this to push surgery or any treatment option, but to expose yet another taboo topic in todays society.  We will all probably be thanking her in the end, for compassionatly telling this story, like she has thousands of others.

It would be best if they showed at least one guy in good shape that has a debilitating case of Gynecomastia. I feel that would show Gynecomastia at it's "best," as it would show a great contrast that would reveal Gynecomastia for what it is.

That would especially be a great way to introduce Gynecomastia: Show a picture of a dudes breasts and then shock the audience as the owner of those breasts comes out and is revealed to be an otherwise extremely masculine/fit and even handsome man. Done in the opposite order it would be quite amusing as well. (As in showing the individual first then showing his breasts.)

It must be made clear that Gynecomastia is something that is not merely a product of obesity, and as someone mentioned earlier that is something that is not necessarily ALWAYS a consequence (“punishment”) for doing something such as abusing steroids.

For example I remember hearing some amusing stories about dudes with 6 packs and the likes that are quite simply mortified about going shirtless constantly/under certain conditions due to their Gynecomastia.

Gynecomastia is horrible not because it's a benign physical ailment, but because it is an ailment that makes a mockery of how society and individuals perceive "b!tch t!ts." Gynecomastia is extremely varied in it’s effect on individuals and it’s causes, however society’s perception of “b!tch t!ts” are not.

I say, SHATTER that preconception early then work from there.

~~~
Eh whatever. I think I got carried away with my imagined scenario. You guys got my imagination working and made me waste my time, shame on you!  ;)
Sorry guys, unfortunately i'm not on the Harpo payroll.  My wife told me about the show and I was just passing the information on - hoping someone could get a free surgery out of it!
Unfortunately, since they changed it to Chicago only, does not look like alot of us will have a chance.  Not sure if I would/could do it anyway.
Now that there has been some interest shown, maybe they will actually do the show.
