I know this is not a good sign, but I had my surgery two days ago.

And he has told me several things post surgery which I don't believe is right as the internet says different and was just wondering if you guys could help me clear it up !

1. He says that I can resume LIGHT working out in 2 weeks ? Everywhere says light work outs should wait for AT LEAST 4 weeks ?

2. He says I can stop wearing the compression vest in a week but EVERYWHERE on the internet is saying 4-6 weeks.

Do you think he is just an idiot ? Or do you think that because my case was very mild (whole process only took one hour for both sides) and that no liposuction was needed so I have a shorter recovery time than the typical post surgery person on the internet who's had BOTH gland excision AND liposuction ?

Also underneath my compression vest I have two pads on my chest and he says that they can be removed after 4 days, this padding is inbetween the compression vest and the bandage on my lower aeorla.

Help will be much appreciated, thank you

If you trusted your surgeon to operate on you why don't you trust his post-op instructions?  He knows what was done during the surgery and is in the best position to provide post op instructions for you.

Hey yeah I know but what he is telling me is just SO different to everything that I have read on the internet !

Everybody is saying vest for 4 weeks etc and he's saying one week ... that's not a little but a MASSIVE difference.

I just want to make sure and maximize the result of my surgery

Dustin: You are overreacting! All surgeons have different post-op instructions.

For example: I believe Dr. Pope recommends his patients 2 weeks of compression. (I have seen nothing but great results of his work on this forum)!

Dr Jacobs usually recommend 4 weeks of compression. (His results are absolutely fantastic)

You might check posts of Dr. Silverman regarding his approach on LIGHT work out after surgery.

The main thing is: Trust your surgeon, follow his advice and most important try to relax!!!
