Questions about gyno

I've got a few questions and any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Firstly a bit of background. I'm 19 and had unilateral gyno for about a year. The mass is about 3cm an diameter and is sore to touch. I exercise lots so I'm very lean but the gyno just puffs the left nipple right out! Very annoying

How big does pubertal gyno get? How big would it need to get before I need to accept it's there to stay?

I know this sort of question is asked loads but do you think, at 19, it could still be pubertal and could go away?

Why is there pain? Does this indicate it's still growing? Will it go away? It stops me playing high contact sports cause it's really sore when it's hit!

If I was to go for surgery has anyone got any suggestions to where is the best in the United Kingdom? If i was to the US how long would I need to stay for so I can get the check ups and such?
And finally what's scarring and that like after surgery?

It would be great if I could hear back from anyone answering any of my questions!

Gynecomastia due to the effects of puberty is usually seen at the age of 11 or 12.  Unequal growth is not uncommon.  In girls, it is not unusual for one breast to be a full cup size larger than the other.  
The most common cause of Gynecomastia is Idiopathic, a fancy medical word that means: "your guess is as good as mine," or "I don't know."
The best place to start is probably with your family doctor.  Ironically, he probably does not know a lot more about this than you do, but he might be able to refer you to others that are more knowledgeable on this subject.   Most Gynecomastia is harmless, but it is always a good idea to check this out. 
Surgery is the only way to get rid of it, and most medical insurance does not cover it because they treat it as a purely cosmetic situation.  If you do decide on surgery, choose your surgeon with the utmost care.  A general surgeon is not a good idea, get a specialist or wait.

Thanks for your reply! Yeah I seen a doctor and they sent me to the breast clinic to get it scanned but they didn't scan it the doctor just said "yeah that's definetely gyno" when she felt it and stuff so I was like cheers. She then said the pain won't go away ever even after surgery and I don't know how that's possible cause it's definetely the gland causing the pain. But yeah thanks again for your reply and I think i might get surgery. It just does my nut in cause it's so annoying

For years, I thought that pain or just tenderness was a sign that the breasts were still growing.  Not True.   My breasts have remained the same size for as long as I can recall.  At the age of 80, that goes back a long time.  The degree of tenderness does vary, but I cannot attach any special significance to that in my case.  Sometimes the tenderness can be most unpleasant,  which makes me hate the seat belt in my car.  At other times, the sensation is actually somewhat erotic. My wife seems to enjoy that when it happens.
