i was wondering more about if now is a worse time than others to get anytype of surgery because of this outbreak of superbug staph that isn't responding to antibiotics.  ????

thanks a lot for the info.  By the way, what type of MD are you if you don't mind my asking.

I was hospitalized for MRSA a year ago in September.  The bug somehow entered my skin through a shaving cut below my lip.  My lip swelled up huge and it took nearly a week for the MDs to decide it was MRSA.  By that time, the only thing that could be done was to hospitalize me for IV antibiotics and drain the abcess.

Worse pain I ever felt.

I am not in a high risk category so I was very surprised that it was MRSA.  I am a little concerned with going under the knife knowing that MRSA has localized on my skin.
