I posted another post about gynecomastia before with no replies, but I am still confused about this condition.

I first starting noticing tender pains in my chest and my puffy nipples around 2-3years ago (as well as weird testicles).
I had varicocele surgery (vein deformity in the testicles) a few months back for a varicocele that was causing me to have smaller testes. After the surgery, my testicles grew and my chest decreased in size and also regained the "tender" feeling it had a while back (indicating the gland/gyne tissue was spontaneously going away? i think?) I'd say my chest decreased by about 60% in the first month and the tender feeling has seemed to pass. However, I am unsure if my chest is still decreasing, but I still have noticibly puffy nipples. How long does it take for gynecomastia to disappear for those of whom it goes away naturally? Should I wait it out and see if my condition continues to improve? Are there any sure signs to distinguish whether it is gland or fat? My GP ( who didn't seem to know TOO much about gyne) about a month ago after a rather quick 10second feel of my chest said I do not have gyne...where should i go for a second opinion?

P.S. I am 18yrs old and probably started puberty late at around 14~

Thanks

Firstly I am not a doc or a specialist in this matter, I am merly a sufferer!

I dont know how your testicular surgery is connected with your gyne and I havent heard of someones gyne just dissapearing.

All I can advise you to do is to book an appointment with another doctor for a second opinion

I knew I had varicocle by researching the internet and basically diagnosing myself because I knew something was wrong with my testicles. I then made an appt with a Urologist who diagnosed me with a large varicocele and got the surgery to correct it (The surgery was outpatient and really wasn't that bad!, 1week to walk again and 1 month to feel normal again). However, when I asked my urologist if varicoceles lower testosterone he said not necessarily. My theory is that since my varicocele made the scrotum hotter than normal and made my testes smaller that it was interfering with my testosterone production. After the surgery, the natural conclusion would be that with my larger, normal testes that my testosterone levels increased and my gynecomastia symptoms seemed to somewhat diminish.

I can tell you to get checked by a urologist right away! your description shows clear symptoms of a varicocele, i.e. enlarged veins, hotter scrotum, testicular pain. It is usually worse when you shower because you are standing upright with no support(underwear) so the blood and veins are more apparent. Maybe varicocele correction surgery (varicocelectomy) will hopefully diminish your gyne symptoms too? However mine have not fully disappeared, although it decreased by at least 50%, and thats why I am still here wondering.

I never got tested for testosterone, but I am 90% certain my levels did go up as I gained muscle mass faster, grew hair on my face faster and my testes increased in size...sure signs of increased test.!
