I've yet to be convinced that marijuana can cause gynecomastia. Guess there's not really any way to tell because I've been smoking for years  :-\ but I would like to hear from anyone that got the surgery and still smokes every now and then. Anybody out there?

Thanks man that's pretty interesting. I understand smoking weed can cause fatty deposits but I have friends that smoke 100x more than I do and have the flattest chests ever (terribly frustrating to see). I sometimes even think that Doctors say this not knowing any of the real scientific facts behind such a claim, simply to discourage people from smoking because its illegal.  ??? Either way, I'll probably cut back after I get my surgery just because Im gettin to that point in my life where I need to put my focus elsewhere  :D...

Marijuana does not cause Gynecomastia per se.

Statistically though, people who use Marijuana are more likely to have Gynecomastia than non-users.

The question is: How lucky do you feel? You already know that you are a man who is prone to breast growth so it might be presumed that your risk is above average.

Don't let yourself be fooled by the fact that use for a few months has had no apparent effect. If MJ would cause regrowth, it would occur over time. by the time you noticed it, it would be too late.

As usual, prevention is preferable to cure.

Aside from going to a college where billions of people smoke weed Ive never even tried the stuff. Definitely a mix of because ive had gyne and it is illegal.

c'mon, that's just ridiculous... to have your gyne treated and to risk it coming back... why get surgery done in the first place?

Yeah,  I wouldn't want to even take the chance.  I don't know why you would be smoking pot anyways.  I mean, it's not cigarettes but it still isn't exactly great for your health.  The people I've met in my life so far that smoke pot don't seem to be anything more than burnouts.

Ive seen the stuff engulf lives. They spend $100's of dollars on weed every few weeks. All they do is eat, sleep, and smoke weed. Seriously to the point of no return.

I mean I have a smoke session every now and again, I don't think it ever affected my gyne. I too have friends that smoke a lot more than I do with a perfectly flat washboard chest  >:(. IMO weed affecting gyne is a very gray area.

Gray area?...you must mean http://www.greyarea.nl

Am having the op next month with one of the UK's top guys, have had gyn since my pre smoking days, nothing will stop me enjoying the occassional toot though I'm no longer judging at the Cannabis Cup! lol!..

I think the correlation between dope smokers and breasts is more to do with the amount of biscuits eaten than anything in marijunanas chemical make up.

Some people just aren't likely to develop gyne no matter what.  Smoking weed doesn't guarantee gyne.  However, if you're someone who has the background risk to developing gyne, smoking weed can probably bring it on.

I don't think the doctors are linking pot to gyne just to get people to quit.  If that were the case, they would make a bigger difference linking into cigarette smoking, but they are not doing that.

It is stupid.  But it is a recreation that many, many people indulge in often.  Heck, one of my parents was a closet toker and I didn't find out until I was 18.  Disappointing to say the least.

I'm sure a couple light-ups after recovery isn't going to hurt someone.  I'd bet that smoking it frequently each week would definitely make you lose your results though in no time.  I'm not saying that real gynecomastia would recur but pseudo-gynecomastia would eventually.
