hi,

I have seen all over this forum concerns about soy protein and its role in Gynecomastia. Im not a scientist or anything but as far as I can make out - Soy isoflavene is one of the Phytoestrogens, from what I can tell these Phytoestrogens are like estrogen but 1000 times weaker!

So maybe if you were eating loads of soy then there is cause for concern?

The information I have found so far on soy has all been benificial, I found a good article by The Department of Medicine, George Washington University Medical Center, (not some kid in his bedroom talking crap) that lists a lot of benifits to soy  as suggests that consumption of plant-based protein, particularly soy protein, may suppress food intake and increase satiety and/or energy expenditure that may reduce body fat gain and result in weight reduction.

I am not 'Pro' or 'against' soy by the way, just trying to shed some light on this issue for my own understanding. If you know where there is evidence of these negative effects of soy from a credible source if you could let me know I would love to read it.

Hey,

I checked that article out and was interesting. I guess in the end soy protein is unlikely to cause Gyne, but whey protein is better anyway so your better off just going with weigh in the first place

don't believe the industry hype.  the phytos are not a problem, and even if they were i bet the protein extract is mostly protein.  i eat more soy in a day than most of the people here and have not had a change or problem.  i got my gyne when i was doing dairy and meat, not soy.

pay attention to two things:  my post, which is #7, and the article link somebody added two posts down in #9, you'd have to practically choke on the stuff to even have tiny cause for concern. 

* a man is more than a body will ever tell
* if it screws up your life the same, is there really any such thing as "mild" gyne?
