Stage 2 Compression Vest

Hi everyone, I recently underwent surgery and am now in the recovery phase. I had two small glands removed with a little look. My surgeon told me to wear the compression band for 14 days.
I am reading a lot about 'stage 2' compression vests..should I buy one of these even though it was never mentioned by my surgeon? And if so, what type would you recommend? Any info greatly appreciated, thank you!
