It started a year ago

Hi

About a year ago, I began feeling a small pain in my left nipple, together with a small, hard lump. It kept growing until about March this year, then stopped.

The same happened to my right nipple, 3/4 months after the gyne appeared in the left side. It's still growing (i think) and it appears to have become slightly larger that the left side.

It's not a severe case by any means, but they are pointy and show on a t-shirt.

The thing is, I am 23. So, this all began when I was 22. I thought this was a puberty thing!! What the hell???

Anyway, do you guys think there's any chance for this to go away, considering how late it appeared and that it's only been 1 year since it all begun?

my personal advice would be go to the drs quick! maybe u could get some anti e treatment. because this may help u as it hasnt been there for to long i think there is a window wich u can recieve treatment. after that surgery is the way. also check it isnt any prescribed meds u may be taking or anything u are doing wich has caused it. hope this helps

Thanks for your reply postiey. I Already have an appointment scheduled to my doctor for next month.

I don't take any meds, drugs, alcohol or anything else for that matter, other than food and fluids (water and juice). I'm very healthy and fit, I do cycling 4 times a week, 1hr/day. Therefore, I don't think have done anything wrong that may have caused this condition

The majority of cases develop during puberty, however, it can rear it's ugly head at almost any age...

ok sombrero! well best to check as i have heard that all those things that u mentioned can cause gyne. i have to say my dr was useless so dont feel downhearted once u have been, He may just well just diagnose u with gynecomastia, but atleast u will know then or he may pass u on to a specialist wich u can have a think of ur next step good luck!

The right specialist to see would be an Endocrinologist.

While Gynecomastia is harmless in itself, it can be an important symptom of problems elswhere. Getting to the source of the problem should not be delayed.
