I found a surgeon at University of Michigan hospital, his name is Dr. David Brown. When I visited him I asked him to see pics of your patients who did male breast reduction surgery but he said "we do not do that" which shocked me. why not?!!. The reason I chose them because they accept Aetna insurance. If anyone knows a perfect surgeon who accepts Aetna in Michigan or North eastern states I will go with that. Thank you all!!

No chance - I would not waste any more time, get to researching the guys who specialise in gyne surgery. Its not exactly pocket change

Not a chance I'd go with them! I would of lost my head and told them straight to get a grip, if you want people's  money for cometic work then you must see pictures. That's like a hair loss company trying to sell you a drug for hair loss but not proving it works!

The internet is a great tool. I just spen the better part of an hour looking at everything I could find about Your Dr. Brown at Ann Arbor. MI.

He does not seem to have a site himself so it does take some hunting. I found several reviews that are short on specifics but praise him highly. A couple of reviews that are full of details that are mostly bad. Ok, we don't take those too seriously since an unhappy patient will spout off. What was most telling ws that when a person did mention the procedure they had, Most had tummy tucks or breast lifts or both. None clained to have had male breast reduction. This seems to be a procedure that he does not ordinarily do.

Along with the fact that a surgeon is first a Doctor; A cosmetic surgeon is also an artist. Specifically a sculptor. Each type of surgery also requires a degree of practice. The very best surgeon for any procedure is one that does that particular procedure regularly. See a Surgeon who has a special interest in male breast reduction and does this kind of procedure often.

My surgeon did not keep before & after on gyne pics.  He had a huge portfolio on female breast reduction/enhancement, but had not taken the time to put together a gyne portfolio.  My dr. is a plastic surgeon, board certified, etc etc etc.  Listen, if you are comfortable with what your doc is telling you, whether he/she has before and after pics shouldn't eliminate them from consideration.  If I had pics of myself, I would show you a helluva success story.

Is this being billed to the insurance company as a "cosmetic" procedure? If it is, I would certainly want to see b/a.. If it isn't being billed as a cosmetic procedure, you're essentially sol. I too had gyno surgery that was covered by insurance.. It was before I really "understood" gyno, and I didn't go into it looking at it as a cosmetic procedure.. I've since had surgery w/ a plastic surgeon.. If you want.. you can read my first post on this site.. It covers my experience w/ the gs..
