Hi,

I've been a regular visitor to this forum and it's only because of this forum I was able to sum up courage to go under the knife. I read a lot of pols experiences and decided hat dr. Anantheswar was the best. I went to see him I oct 2011. He was nice and explained the procedure to me patiently. He said that mine was a Case of moderate gyne. However I did not agree. I was not able to make up my mind whether I should go for the surgery or not. Finally in the first week of jan I went back and got all my tests done and got the surgery fixed on the 14th. I got he tests done from dr. Lao path labs. It costed me 1800 bucks where as in manipal it was for 4000. So I was ale to save some money there. He total estimated cost of the surgery given to me was 65000 rs. On the 13th I received a call from the hospital saying hat the nursing staff has gone on strike therefore no elective surgeries are being performed. I received a call again on the 16th and got the surgery fixed on 28th.

On the 27th I reached he hospital and was admitted to he general ward. The staff was helpful and friendly, but the room was not upto my expectation. But then I cudnt have gotten more for 1200 bucks a day hat I paid for the general ward. I met dr. Sunil at midnight, he told me that I ll be operated on at 7 ep next morning but there might be a delay of 1-2hrs. Had an anxious sleep the night before in anticipation of what is going to happen.

I was woken up at 8 in the morning , had a shower and was given an antibiotic and was taken to theOT. Must say that it's a really scary place. It's about hen the realty started to hit me, the OT was something I had only seen in movies and it was quite scary to be in one. My chest pics were taken in the OT. Dr. Sunil asked me that if I had tried exercising to reduce he gland size. I was SHOCKED...at that pt. I was really scared. The whole world knows that gyne can't be reduced by exercising. But then dr. Anantheswar entered the room and he seemed to know his stuff really wel l. He was really chilled about it and I showed him he spots where I thought gyne had extended. In my case it was not restricted to the aerola it had extended beneath he underarm and also in the upper chest area. I pointed that out to he doc and he made the marking. Then I was attached to all kinds of monitors. The anasthesia was given to me and within 3seconds I was out. My surgery had started at 9 am. I woke up in the recovery room at 2 pm, the anaesthetist told me that the surgery went well. I was really hazy and was feelling sore in the chest area. I was shivering really badly, I had 3 heaters above me and still I was shivering. I was then taken back to the room. As I was all by myself I had to do all the sick tasks of peeing by the bedside in a jug alone. It was really difficult. I stayed in the hospital overnight and came back home today morning. Doc met in the morning and told me that my surgery went on for 4-5hours as the gland was humongous and it was really hard to take it out. He has clicked pics and I can't sit to see them.

I ended up paying 77k for the surgery as the additional 12 k came from the 2 additional hours in the OT and anasthesiist extra charges. I must admire dr Anatheswar's professionalism for charging the same surgeon fees even after he struggled with my case for 5 hours.

I can't see my chest right now as it is bandaged. But I feel a lot  flatter and obviously the drains are a real pain. I m going back to the hospital tommo to get my bandage removed  and get a vest on. The discharge was 250ml from each side yesterday. Today it's already 50 ml. So I guess I ll have to wait a few more days before the prescribed 10 ml per day..
